Sorry for the bad news today but must tell you all about a recent mass brute force attack. The site will be unavailable during this time.
Around a week ago, I got an email from my website showing 10 failed login attempts. Apon checking the sites dashboard, I could see multiple failed login attempts. Back then I played it off due to the attacker(s) seemingly giving up after 2 lockouts. However, recently more attacks have been made on the site. I do not know where the attacks are coming from as an IP hider (such as a VPN) is in use but I have reason to believe the root is from Bangladesh. The main attack locations are
– United States
– Germany
– France
– Bangladesh
I do not know if these attacks are from the same person or group or multiple different independent groups or individuals. They have tried to login to non-existant accounts but have also targeted this account. So, the following action will be taken:
– This account (Splamei) will be deactivated preventing login
– The website will be unavailable for some time while I make back-end adjustments
– The Splamei Network 1.0 will be unavailable as well
All users with accounts have been emailed about the attack with advice. If you have an account on this site, please read the email sent to you.
I am terribly sorry about the temporary lockdown of the site and Network however this is for everyones own good.
