SplameiPlay gets AI disclosures

SplameiPlay gets AI disclosures

Generative AI is getting used in more and more things, yet you’re often not told when it’s used, and why. And because Gen AI is trained using existing content from humans, often illegally, knowing if and how Gen AI has been used within projects is more important then ever.

So we’re proud to announce that we’re adding required AI disclosures to SplameiPlay, requiring all project distributors to disclose their usage of AI for each project. And for native projects, distributors will need to accurately disclose AI usage or they’ll get removed.

A new icon will show on project pages, right next to the existing ‘fave’ and ‘report’ buttons so you can quickly see how Gen AI was used without hiding the disclosure, unlike other platforms. Pressing this new icon will explain what each disclosure is.

We’re also adding the ability to block projects based on the disclosed Gen AI usage, so you only see and play projects that used it to what you find acceptable. You won’t need to check and wonder if a project uses Gen AI in a way you don’t like, because we’ll handle that for you and let you know when a project uses it against what you want.

And for those who don’t care about the new disclosure system, you can always disable the icon in settings at any time.

We’re actively working on refining this system to ease the roll-out and get it ready for release, so it may take some time. Once we’re done, we’ll update our documentation about it for distributors before we release the update. We hope this feature helps you better understand how the projects you play were made and helps you decide what to play.
