We’ve updated SplameiPlay for both Windows and Linux to 5.2 Particle with some new changes and fixes. Here’s everything we’ve changed:
AI Disclosures have arrived
As mentioned in a previous post, we intended to add Generative AI disclosures to SplameiPlay to allow you to better understand how a project you’re playing was made surrounding Generative AI, especially with it’s rise of usage within many projects across different platforms.
This update finally adds disclosures and requires all projects from now on to disclose how their project was made in regards to Generative AI. The different disclosure types are ‘None’, ‘Assisted’, ‘Modified’ and ‘Made’. You can read what each disclosure means by pressing the AI Disclosure button or visiting our documentation website.
This update adds the new AI Disclosure button with the other ‘Quick action’ buttons, below the notices box on all project pages. It’s icon shows the disclosure type. You can always hide this icon in settings if AI disclosures do not matter to you. You can now also block projects with a disclosure type higher then what you like within settings preventing you from installing projects with a higher disclosure rating then what you want.
Download speed history? No problem
We’ve now added the ability to see the download history of a project on a graph while your installing it, so you can see when a sudden drop occurs with your download speed and why your download is taking longer then expected. It shows on all project pages and the queue page.
Because of the new download speed graph, a new setting has been added to allow you to configure how far back the graph will display or disable it completely, your choice.
Project requirement changes
- Made it so, on Linux, executing permissions is given to projects when launching
- This is because projects would fail to launch without them, which can lead to random, silent, launch failures requiring manual fixing
- Removed the requirement for the CPU clock speed on Windows and Linux
- Allowed projects to set an optional, graphic preset score requirement
Other changed have been made
- Improved the handling and display of the Fave + Report buttons (Quick action buttons)
- Removed some unused code and objects
- Removed some redundant logging
- Updated some packages
- Updated SplameiPlay Flow to 1.3 (Client 1.3.0.0)
- Other bug fixes and changes
This update updates the server syntax for projects and updates SplameiPlay Flow to 1.3 so we’ll be slowly rolling this update out to allow distributors to update their projects to the new syntax. If you want the update early, or you’re a project distributor, the update is available now on the Alpha channel.
Thank you for supporting and using SplameiPlay!
