Say hello to SplameiPlay Flow, the new network system for Splamei projects. Here you’ll find everything you’ll need to know about SplameiPlay Flow and what it means for the projects and the Splamei Network.
What is SplameiPlay Flow?
SplameiPlay Flow is the new system that projects will use to allow them to access information like event info, rotations and update info. It’s made to be more robust and efficient compared to the Splamei Network to allow content to be served quicker while still allowing it to be accessed easily for free.
How will this affect me?
For most people, you won’t notice any change. SplameiPlay Flow will operate similarly to that of the Splamei Network so all you need to do is update the projects that will be upgrading to SplameiPlay Flow.
For those who make custom projects for SplameiPlay, you’ll also notice no major changes since SplameiPlay will still request information in a similar same as how it was done by the Splamei Network (The server syntax may be updated in the future). You will, however, gain access to extra control exclusive to SplameiPlay Flow to help you better store information for SplameiPlay.
What projects will be upgraded to SplameiPlay Flow?
At the moment, we don’t have a set list of projects that will be upgraded. The only projects that will use SplameiPlay Flow will be: SplameiPlay (via an update) and Nimokion (on release). The other projects will be upgraded based on how often they get updated, how they use the Splamei Network and how long they will be supported. We’ll update you all at a later date with which projects will be updated.
What will happen to the Splamei Network?
As of writing, we have no intention to shut down the Splamei Network any time soon meaning the Splamei Network will run along side SplameiPlay Flow. The Splamei Network will remain to be maintained and online until at least 1-2 months after it’s anniversary. As mentioned previously, the exact times the Splamei Network will be shutdown is not currently set so we’ll update you when we plan to shut it down.
When can I use SplameiPlay Flow?
We’re still working on SplameiPlay Flow to make it up to our standards and ready for use so it will take some time before it’s ready for public use. We’ll make a separate post announcing the first project that will use it and how you can access it. (The first project will likely be SplameiPlay’s Alpha Channel)
Final notes
We wish the best for both SplameiPlay Flow and the Splamei Network and we hope you all our too! Thank you for reading and we’ll work on SplameiPlay Flow as much as we can to get it ready for you ASAP.
